Who owns this beauty and its treasure trove of parts?

Kind of sad, once again, that the car was used, in my opinion, to gain wealth. (flipped).

Not sure what Don sold it for, but there was wiggle room for a new buyer to profit from the sale.

Don said it went to a collector who did not want to be bothered. It went to a person who was intent on making a lot of money off it. I am choosing my words carefully.

I find it interesting that these cars come out of hiding then move up the value ladder - $5000, $10,000, $40,000, and then they will find a more permanent home, I hope. It just seems that some folks only look at Eldorados, Mark II's et al, as opportunities for stores of wealth and profit.

I see your point but look at it that once it tops out its usually with a person who appreciates these cars as much as we do. My worry is that they are micky moused along the way causing the final buyer to regret the purchase.

LOL! Unless he's planning on insurance fraud, that's a laugh.

Great point. I believe that is what we are seeing and since part of our passion for this car is maintaining an owner record, hopefully once they stop bouncing around, it can be tracked from then on.

Well, we don't know what "Don" sold it for, but it sold on ebay for $22,300 and then a post further down had it for sale for $30,000.

Just supposing that Don sold it for $10,000, then that's a $10,000 + profit for little more then being in the right place at the right time.

Then the next guy thinks he can get another $7500 out of it.

Personally, I think that's fantastic! People with better knowledge and the willingness to take a risk ought to benefit. That's the way the system is supposed to work!

Also since Mark II's are so undervalued, I am pleased to see the price run up on some of these cars.

Interesting point Pat. It has been interesting to note that there has been 2 such flipped cars recently that went at $10,000 or so increments up to a plateau so to speak.
