I am preparing to paint my 56 Mark II, #1211, in its original color, #05. In researching, I've found conflicting information on the color of the hood hinges.
The Continental Mark II Restorers Guide states the following:
Page #48 Underside of hood and hinges are body color.
Page #108 The hood hinges are painted black.

The Continental Mark II Encyclopedia states the following:
Section E, Page #18 Hood hinges exterior color.
A definitive answer is appreciated.

My car 3292 has original paint under hood and hinges match body color

I believe they should be body color. I have seen several sets and they were all body color, including my car.

Thank you for the responses. I'm convinced that the hinges should be body color.

In some production photos posted on the Facebook Continental page, there is one in particular that shows a black body assembled and on a cart. The hinges appear to be natural or plated and the spring looks black. What do you all think of this?

Dick:
Hinges were originally painted the body color.
