I bought My Mark ll in June of 2014
I was born in 56 and have been looking for the Iconic from that year ,
the first time I saw a Mark ll I knew that was the Car ,
I have been looking for one for a couple years before I found this one ,
It was sold to Me as a 56 was registered in Arizona as a 56 , and now in Ca.
but now I find it is really a 57 , C56T3972
It needs a little work , but it's a Keeper !!!

Welcome aboard. You will find this a very informative resource. Post some pics of your new ride! Pat the resident historian will want some info on the car if we don't have it - the engine serial number, the carpet name plate, the full SPEC code on the car and the body tag if your car has one...

and again, welcome!

Welcome to the Forum - Ditto on the information we'd like to have - except don't go looking for a body tag, 3972 didn't have one!

Historically, I always get excited about a car like yours, because other than the original invoice, we have no history for 3972! It was sold new in Chicago in May 1957 and that's all we know about the cars life.

So, we're really hoping that you can provide some (any) information about where it's been over the last 57 years.

Once again, welcome to the Forum, you'll be glad you joined!

Am very Happy to find this Place !!!
Have already been helped in finding part numbers for shocks for this car...

Pat , When You say Body tag You don't mean the VIN Tag above the drivers door hinge , because that's there , there is also a carpet tag but it only says Continental

The body tag is a small number plate on earlier cars and is located on the fire wall in the engine compartment between the brake booster and the battery box. Your car is late enough that it should not have one.

The history for 3972 has been updated:

The ???'s are items that we need to complete the 3972's original specifications. If you have any info on the car before you purchased it, and pictures we'd love to have them!
