Hi Shelly and all who contribute to this awesome site-this has to be the best website for a car enthusiast interested in a particular type of car!!.The work and research that has gone into this site is incredible!!..Have been looking for and have been interested in acquiring a Mark II-I wanted to find a very nice original survivor, rather than a trailer queen.Found and purchased 2852-an original factory air car in the colors I wanted-black,with a red and white interior.Mine was purchased new at the famed J.C Daniels dealership in Pampa,Texas,by Harley Shuford, the founder of Century Furniture,The car remained in his ownership in Hickory,North Carolina, until 1973.It was purchased by an enthusiast in North Carolina, who, the next year, sold it to the person I acquired the car from,so it has remained a very nice rust-free "survivor"-just the way I want to preserve her!!...Jim Inglis ,Palm Beach,Florida

Welcome to the Forum, Jim!

Here is the link to the updated history for 2852.

A few items:
The car was sold to Daniels Motor company of Charlotte, NC, not JC Daniels Motors of Pampa, Texas.

Could you tell us what are 2582's engine number and body tag number? Also, what is written on the brass Continental plate on the transmission hump carpet?

Thanks,

Pat Marshall

I used to watch Burke's Law every week when I was a kid, just to see the Rolls. For some reason I seem to recall the last season of Amos Burke, Secret Agent the Rolls used was a Silver Cloud III. I too wanted to own a Rolls. I had one for a few years, but sold the car. The vehicle was a nightmare. :( Glad to see that "Amos'" car is still around and in good hands.

Thank you all for the warm welcome, and I will definitely post more pictures of the MarK II and my collection.Howard,I have most of the 17 episodes of Amos Burke,Secret Agent, and, all I've seen in the episodes is my Cloud II-not to say a Cloud III wasn't used in the last episodes that I may not have or have seen.As an aside, both my Clouds have been reliable and a pleasure to own-hate to hear of your experience with your Cloud.Certainly enjoying the forum!

I'm sure you are correct about the Silver Cloud II being used in all the series. It was so long ago, I guess my mind got confused. Happens more than it used to. Damn age. I am so pleased that you have the actual car that was, at least to a car fan like myself, the "star" of the show. Looking forward to photos of your Mark and your other cars.

Hi Pat..the engine number that is stamped by the distributor (for 2852) is 1870;the body number, that I assume is the number on the data plate in the door jamb,is 01-1F6m-228-6..There is no brass Continental" plate on the transmission hump..Hope this helps...Jim

Thanks for the engine number!

The body tag is on the fire wall between the brake booster and the wiper motor/battery location.

Your car's history is one of the few that are complete with information on all of the numbers, original owner profile, original owner photo, complete ownership chronology, current car photo and even car show results.

Thanks for your contributions!

Hi Jim,

I notice you're near Boca Raton. We'll be at the Concours next Sunday with our Mark II. There will be two others in our ring for you to see, if you're interested.
