Welcome JJR,

Good luck with your Mark II. Please post pictures of it if you have any. What is the VIN of your car? If we can help you in any way, please feel free to ask.

Hi John,
Welcome to the Forum. If you're getting ready to redo a Mark II you've found a place for information, past experience and a few tricks. If you like T-Birds you're going to love the Mark II. Someone once called the Mark II a T-Bird on seroids.
Again, welcome and have fun.

Welcome:
As others have found trying to find the original owner (probably dead by now) and the dealer can be difficult. If the Car was built to order it had the owners name included on the signature plate by the heater controls.

In my case the car came from Kronon Motors on Irving Park Rd. as that is where my father bought it.:)

The 57 Thurnderbird is what I learned to drive in.:D

JJR:

You are NOT driving a "Lincoln". The Mark II is a Continental, and your car is beautifull. :)

Ditto on the "Lincoln" comment and your car is very nice. You shouldn’t have much trouble bringing it back to “extremely nice” and I love the color :)

Do you know any of the history of your car? Let us know the VIN and we can try to look it up.

Nick thanks for the kind words about my mk ii , the car has had a lot of work done to it, by the fellow before me, the engine & trans were done , the ac was repaired & works on 134a freon, the engine compartment was painted and detailed out nice, the interior needs to be replaced & im going to have the body taken down to bare metal & repaint her, the problem is i have been restoring a 1963 riv, that i am doing a frame up resto on its almost there but i have had a hard time finding time to finish it, so i dont want to have two tore down at once, so right now the mark is in one peace waitting its turn . Thanks john

John,

Love the Rivs. My first new car was a '73. Metallic red with white interior. Did you deal with Randy Rymal in MI. for anything for the Riv?

Ahso!

Chuck - Have you confirmed that Frank Hammer was actually the original owner of 2819? We have found a number of instances where the person named on the invoice wasn't the original owner. This sometimes happened when the person who ordered the car changed his/her mind and someone else bought the car. I have also found instances where the person on the invoice was actually an employee at the dealership.

JJR - Would you share the actual name of the previous (and if possible) other prior owners. Also the history for your car would be more complete if we knew your last name
