How kind of you to think of me. Actually, I am here. I'm here for new posts a couple of times a day.

I've had more than a few changes in my life. Up until 3 months ago the Parkinson's had me looking for something life-changing. I had gotten to a point where I was always finding something new to give up. It started with doing stained glass work. I quit when I could no longer handle glass, or solder. I backed away from doing work for other's, but I spent a lot of time working on my own cars. When the battery in the Mark II exploded I couldn't do that level of workmanship and had Rick Payton repair it in his shop. I never did anything to anyone's car while it was gone. I was, thinking of ways to end my life. Pretty-much a goner. That was a very low time.

I met a guy I went to HS with, but didn't know everyone as we had 3,000 students. His long-term other worked at a restaurant I frequented. He told her he knew me and he wanted to talk to me about my shake. I noticed a straw in his coffee, and the fact that his hands never left his lap while we played Rock and Roll Jewish Geography Class of 1970. I looked at him and he looked back at me and I said, "What's up with the straw?" He said it's the only way I can drink coffee." He showed me. Twice as bad as mine, and his are afflicting both hands. I don't know how he drives. He tears up and ducked his hands below the table. "Where's your shake?" I picked up my iPad. That offset weight triggers two muscles to fire creating a violent 6hz shake of my wright wrist. "I don't mind showing it!" It's not like I have much control over it. The medication, Sinemet, helped, but I kept getting more and more symptoms showing up. My new friend and I started meeting at the restaurant to tell stories and compare notes. He found out his tremors were treatable by dual-beam ultrasound. As he ramped up he told me they were treating Parkinson's the same way.

I had to go through the same neurologist to pass to the next stage. It took 8 weeks to get that appointment, but it changed my life. He asked if I had tried a supplemental medication used with Sinemet. He convinced me to try the pill before heading across the state for treatment. I started on a 1/4 dose an in day was feeling the effects. In a week I was feeling a cloud dissipating. In a month I tried stained glass and was successful, but the passion had dimmed. My overall effectiveness is back. Tool use is getting better every day. I have no notable shake at all, so I'm back with a vengeance.

I know that this is no cure, but it has greatly enhanced my day to day existence, and I'm enjoying it. Thanks again for asking.

Oh, if you're in the Detroit area were throwing a 54th anniversary/car friends party at our commercial buildings in Redford in mid-May. If you bring something I can drive you can drive one of our cars, and consume mass quantities of pizza.

Barry That's very tough to hear. We only go around once. Thanks for helping me with my car questions while you were going through this time. If someone doesn't share their talent and pass it on its a waste. Thanks for sharing. Hope you keep getting Beter. Gary

Barry, sorry to hear that your condition got worse lately. Hopefully this new medication/therapy will help you. Getting old is not always fun.
