Brake light switch

Good morning everybody. If you haven't already read my last post I'm happy to see my brakes are now working 100% properly. I do have one issue though that I'm a little concerned about. When I brought the car home from my mechanic 55 km one way, I was followed by my friend and he noticed that the brake lights did not always come on. If I came to an intersection as I pushed the brakes firmly to slow down the brake lights would come on, however as I would roll up to the light and release the brake pedal a little bit still applying them though, the brake lights did not always function. It seems to take quite a bit of pressure to get the brake light switch to activate. Is there an adjustment process to this brake light switch? Any help and insight would be appreciated. You have a failing brake light switch. It’s a common ford part that can be sourced from Napa or some place like that. Easy to change also.

A small amount of air can be bled off by loosening the brake light switch to bleed off the air. Air compresses differently than hydraulic fluid and the air may not be triggering the contacts. Or, as Morgan said, it may be the switch itself.

Thanks to all for information. I purchased and replaced the old switch with a new one, and all is fine.
