Melted wiring

Hello there. So i found a lot of bad wiring under my dash...some melted together, some just bare wire, some not connected to anything. I have it all exposed and started the repairs. My question is...I have a bad melted wire that runs down behind the heat/defrost ductwork on the passenger side..is that metal duct removable so I can get back there to trace this wire all the way back.

The metal ducts with the 2 flexible hose/ducts are removable.
