Attached are a couple of pictures I intended to post with the car and forgot. The leather is actually a little darker than shown because of the flash. Our first shakeout run will be Knotts Berry Farm next month, it is about a 250 mile round trip. I hope I can afford the gas.

Looks great.
Just curious as we've discussed seat belts, shoulder belts, etc. on another thread--did you install any sort of latch to keep the seat backs from coming forward in addition to the shoulder harnesses?

Looks great Bob.
Congratulations!
I would put many miles on it, if I weren't able to drive mine for a year.
Enjoy!

Yes Doc, I have been looking at some kind of latch for the seat back, I just don't know how I'm going to do it yet. I decided against lap belts because they just provide a convenient pivot point to launch your head into the steering wheel. I'd sooner do without.

Can you post some pics of how you connected the shoulder belt to the top of the door jamb and the floor? I know that this is a modification I have been thinking about but have not figured out the particulars. Also what belt system did you use?
Many thanks and it looks great!

Very, very nice, in and out. Now as the other members said, run the hell out of it!

We are going to be on the car show circuit big time this year. As to the seat belt install, I will post some pictures under a new thread, probably next week.

no paint?
We have a little weekly car show in Montecito and I finally took my Mark II last Sunday. It’s original with 152,000 miles. All mechanical has been rebuilt, but paint and interior are original an still amazingly good (interior is great). Zero rust anywhere. Anyway, I WAS planning to repaint the thing, but the “experts” at the show said that I “absolutely should not!” They think repainting will lower the value and that “original” is worthy of keeping. Still, I would like to see my Dad’s car looking new again. Any opinions?

As you have described the car...if it were mine, I wouldn't touch it!
