Has anyone painted the accelerator bracket or lower arms and connecting rods attached to it raven color? or the mounting bolts for starter or generator raven? If so what is color code or where did you get it? Thanks Gary T

The two difficult finishes on the Mark II are raven and terne.
I think found a relatively good solution for the Raven finish. I have used it on other cars where black oxide is called for. It is a product called Presto Black gel (I am sure there are other similar products). You clean your parts thoroughly (bead blast off any plating such as cadmium or zinc) and simple immerse them in the solution for 10-15 minutes. For parts that are difficult to remove you can simply paint (after cleaning) the gel on with a paintbrush and then rinse it off.
I never found an acceptable coating that I thought was equivalent to terne.

I believe that Eastwood Tank Tone is Terne.

Pat,
I have refinished several gas tanks with the Eastwood product, which is very good. However, the Eastwood product is a lot brighter than what I consider the color of terne.
Terne plate is an alloy of lead and tin; I think usually about 80% lead. I think this would be a dark gray type of finish quite a bit less bright than the Eastwood product. I think Joseph Stebbens posted that it was created with a hot galvinization process.

I'm really doubting that any judges could tell the difference.
