    Default 2503 - Interior 2G6K

    Hello,

I'm looking for some pics of an original 2G6K interior (white leather seat bolsters, med gray nylon seat biscuits) in good condition. Pictures with the nearly complete interior are very welcome.

    Thanks

I not sure the picture in Nick's post shows the nylon biscuits; they had a very pronounced grid pattern/texture that doesn't seem to be there in the picture--but that may just be a function of the small size of the photo. The link above should take you to the sample pattern available in the Forum.

That was the original configuration of our car. We elected to replace the nylon biscuits with leather of the same color during the restoration.

    Nick, Pete,

thanks for your efforts and the pics, I already know.

There is another reason for my question: As some members wrote here, the med gray leather often has a green tint.

As you know, I intend to restore 2503, which has the interior 2G6K and the med gray leather of the car is green tinted.

Is this green tint a sign of the age of the interior or is it a "feature"?

I replaced the deep grey leather with material from Bridge of Wear and it has a green cast to it from new. The deep grey paint also has a green tint to it so they go well together.

    a further question to 2G6K:

The mark II data base shows med gray nylon for the door and quarter biscuits.

All pictures, I have seen until now show white leather door and quarter biscuits, as well as this post in the forum:

    https://www.markiiforum.com/showthre...highlight=1116. (page 1, #4)

What is the correct material and color for the door and quarter biscuits?

For the sake of absolute authenticity, I've attached a photo of a swatch of the original biscuits taken from under the seat of our car when it was being restored. I suspect this is as close to an undisturbed piece of the original material as could be found. Obviously it's sitting on my keyboard so everyone can see the relative size of the grid pattern in the material (and for color correction on your monitors it's the standard Mac keyboard).

    John,

    thanks for your posting.

I know, the original med gray nylon is available at SMS but my question goes about the material of the door and quarter biscuits: white leather (pictures) or med gray nylon ( data base)?

The Nylon was used originally. Please check out the Mark II database at the very bottom of this forum. It has all the detail answers to your questions. V/R John
