According to the parts book everything is different. While one could put a '58 spindle on a '56 if the tapers on the ball joints are the same, the steering linkages are totally different. The increased surface area of of the friction material might be a benefit and some wheels would probably fit the larger hub, but I don't see the factory doing it to a stock car, especially without a listed DSO.

I'm calling BS until he produces a picture of the installation.
