    Default !957 Headlamp switch

My head lights work , my dash lights do not, all bulbs new . How do you take the headlamp switch out . I took out plate under it . I loosened the switch by turning the ring behind the knob ,but thats as far I have gotten . It does start in Park .

The knob stays on the shaft. Ford switches pull free from the switch. On the switch body there is a small spring loaded lock button. Depress it firmly and pull the rod out. It may take a few pushes and pulls to let go. Be sure the battery has been disconnected first as the lights will be in the on position and all wires to the switch live. Not good. There is a nut that tightens through the dash into the switch. Once removed and the wires pulled free the switch is removed. Be very careful not to damage the plastic cover on the dash when removing the nut as it is fragile. A scratch will make you nuts every time you look at it in the future....Good luck.
