A number of years ago I was able to get Hagerty to list the Continental as a separate make in their Valuator. About a year ago they added the '58, '59 and '60 Continentals as a make instead of a model. I gathered my thoughts and wrote McKeel Hagerty a fact-filled correspondence which will lead to them being put back in with the Lincolns on their next IT update. I got a hand-written note back from McKeel asking me to write for Hagerty. They had me start off on a personal story, but then I got to write about what I'm interested in. See for yourself. They've published 6 out of 10 submitted.

I've pretty-much stopped working on cars due to an advancing tremor in my right hand, making tool use difficult. I'm truly ambidextrous, but I have to think about every move. It's just now starting to affect my typing, with repetitive motions setting it off. We just did our first Concours since the crash of the Zephyr. We had fun, and may do it again, but it was often a struggle with my limited mobility.

    Enjoy the articles.

What an amazing history these cars have. Thanks for the write up.
I'm currently on page 23 (of 59!) of the restoration thread you produced over on VWVortex. What great pictures, I can't wait to try to replicate with my Mark II what you did with that one!
I don't suppose you have any old notes about restoring the window regulators, do you?

    Hey, Barry,

We haven't met but I'd like to say how much I appreciate everything you've done for the Mark II community, and this forum.

I was looking for a '64 Continental when I stumbled across this site, and subscribed, and wound up with Mark II #1832. The wealth of information here really opened my eyes. You also posted on a VW forum, and I read that too.

When I talk to people about our Mark II, I show them a few of your scans of the Elmer Rohn collection; that must have been a lot of work. Wonderful photos of a time gone by.

Then there's the blueprint binders you posted, and lots of other photos too, and all the articles you've written -- including Hagerty now.

Thank you very much. --Peter Hill
