    Default New owner#1275.........in Texas panhandle

    Hello,

I joined this forum to get information about MK II #56C91275, which I recently purchased from long term(25 plus years) indoor storage. It is one on your registry the has been MIA since 1984. I'm very interested in learning any history.

I have been fascinated by this car for 4-5 years, since I first saw it. These are timeless beauties!

    I also own:
    1962 Lincoln covertible
    1962 Mercury Monterey convertible
    1965 Mustang 2+2

Welcome fellow Texan! Does you car still have the broadcloth seat upholstery? Many Mark II's seats were leather. Not too many had cloth material. Post photos of your new acquisition when you have an opportunity. Also glad to hear another member of the Class of 84 has turned up.

    Thanks!

No, the interior Broad cloth is gone & has been recovered nicely with very "leather looking" vinyl, in the original style. I've posted pictures in the General discussion area under "Newbie......offered a 56' MK II"
I tried to figure out how to provide a link here, but could not figure it out.

Does the code on your data plate match the code in the forum history? 1E6L? If it does, then you are correct, it was leather, not broadcloth.
In any event, take the code from your data plate and decode it using this info.

    Good luck. John

As you have probably have already discovered, the information on the data plate confirms that the vehicle was produced in Black with Deep Grey Leather Seat Biscuits and White Leather Seat Bolsters. I pulled the initial information from the forum's registry page using the VIN that you provided. The forum registry information for your car is in error. Regardless, thanks for posting the photos.
