    Welcome, Tom.

That's a handsome car! (But our car was repainted 02 "deep blue" so I'm biased).

There isn't a lot of history on this site about 1232:

    VIN: C5691232
    SPEC: 02-1A1A-915-12
    PROD ORDER NO: 328
ENG#: XXXX BODY TAG NO: XXXXX
    DSO NO: NONE
    DSO DETAILS: NONE
    NAMEPLATE: XXXX

    OWNERSHIP HISTORY:
    1973-78 James Carr VA (L)
1979-81 Capt. G.R. Olson Virginia Beach USN VA (1)(C)(L)
    1981-84 Robert Moss, PA (L)
2003 MELVIN LEROY BOWMAN HICKORY NC (R)

    HISTORICAL INFORMATION:
    (1) CMOA 1979 Vol 1, No 1 - Excerpts of Letter from Captain G.R. Olson USN - "...I have been an old car fan for many years...The stable now includes: 2 Mark IIs...Pix of C5691232 is enclosed."
I'll put an advertisement here: I think it's well worth $12/year to become a member, that gives you access to a wealth of information (and opinion) about the Mark II.

Looks like deep blue 02 color maybe on inside metal behind door panel. Exterior have not yet found trace of 02, only on firewall and behind door hinge cover. Is it possible a change was made before delivery. ? Color is a light blue now. Thanks Tom 1232

Anything is possible.... but I wouldn't bet the farm on it. Mark IIs repainted with a change in color are pretty common. For show purposes only be concerned if the present color is NOT one that was originally available as a factory color. If so in a show the car is not considered an original and under our definitions it would be classified as a "custom".

The picture showing color 02, if I'm seeing it correctly is in show room of Schmitt Motor Car Collections. This probably is one of owners not mentioned in history records. Captain Olson references this in the history records in previous post. The picture has info in lower right corner.
2003 owner Bowman of Hickory NC was evidently owner before, titled to Wm B Boettcher, Sumter, SC (08/25/2003), owner until I titled 1232 in Nov. 2016. Hope this is of help for history of 1232.
