Default 2944 - Lincoln Trophy LCOC Chattanooga

Just got back from the Eastern LCOC with a First Primary and Best of Class, but one question is still hanging out there. Is there supposed to be a Ford oval logo in the center of the headlights? One judge says yes, it was engraved inside. Another had raised ovals on the outside (he also had centering dots, that I don't believe were correct). My experts say the center logo was not necessarily part of delivered Mk II's. What is the consensus?

Congratulations. I am sure other members are able to answer your question but in the meantime any photographs?

I just received my copy of Continental Comments #308, which gives the results of the 2012 Eastern National Meet at Chattanooga. As mentioned above 2944 and LCOC and Forum Member Warren Wubker won the Lincoln Trophy (Best Primary Continental Mark II).

Attached are pictures of Warren and 2944 at the show and Warren receiving his Trophy.

Here's the Link to 2944's history in our Registry:

For what it's worth, my 56 Mark II is a low mileage example and my drivers side headlamp appears to be original. It has the FoMoCo script in the middle raised on the INSIDE center of the headlamp. I searched the internet and found a duplicate of my bulb at http://www.mustangdepot.com/OnLineCa.../headlamps.htm. I've attached the picture. The "SEALED BEAM" at the bottom is raised on the outside, but the little circle on the bottom has the Westinghouse "W" raised on the inside.

Just a note to add that 2944 also won the William Clay Ford Award at the Mid-Western Nationals in Minneapolis.
