I'll give you the newbie Mark II speech.
Buy a well-sorted restored car. Typically, and there are those here that back me up, buy the very best you can afford and enjoy driving it rather than buying a project car.
However, if you have the skills to bring one of these back from the dead, have at it. There are a number of highly skilled restorers and mechanics here that check in regularly. All willing to help. We have certified mechanics and Mad Scientist, who implants modern technology into the inner working of cars where there are no parts, or they're made of unobtainium. There are literally dozens of cars in some stage of restoration for people to take detailed shots of normally hidden area, if you need them.
