Color of Front Hood emblem

Mine is "gold", is it after market? Should it be silver or did the factory select based on body color?

Front hood emblem should be chrome. There wasn't much exterior gold except small portions of the fender emblems and the knights head on the trunk.

Mark II Hood emblems were chrome. There was at least one DSO that specified gold, but the factory standard was chrome.

The reproductions are wimpy above the base. The originals are stiffer, but are prone to snap off rather than bend. I concur that here was no color matching of the ornament. I think Barris' car had gold-plated Dagmar's bolted to it's wheel covers. You can do what you want with them. IMO, nothing looks better than stock.
