Pat Marshall If your residential garage and lifting devices have limitations get 3 additional helpers😂
One for each side and one on the front so you can walk from side to side with tools and remove the hardware. With enough people they can properly hold the hood and after you remove all the bolts they can lift up the hood and safely remove it. With one hand holding the hood and cranking bolts in or out with the other hand can lead to crossthreading, been there and gone through it. I also don't have a hood blanket that increases the weight.
After my horrible experience with almost wrecking the threads in the nuts, while using a lifting device like Barry created or the 3 or 4 person method I would still use the studs turned into the hood nuts first. Cheap insurance to say the least especially when you get to the end of the bolt coming out or attempting to start it.
