    Default body ground cable?

    hi all.
    1911 almost done..... and I have a short 14 inch cable left in the box of parts... any idea here this goes?

    Firewall to starter bolt is where mine is. The bolt on the firewall is behind the bracket that holds the bundle of vacuum lines from the washer fluid bottle.

    I've seen them in a variety of places. Technically, the body is isolated from the frame, so you have to give the current a pathway to get to the battery as the whole body is your ground with only switches completing the circuit to ground.

    I was taught as an apprentice electrician that the mating area of the strap to the body and tab to the engine block have to be clean enough to carry the full load and not be dependent, at all, on the bolt threads to carry the full current.
