    Default Period photo(s) of Mark IIs on car hauler?

    Greetings ,

    Does anyone have a decent period image of new Mark IIs on a car hauler?

    I need it for a PowerPoint presentation I'm putting together on how cars
    were shipped, specifically how Julio Palmero's C56D2784 got to Havana.
    For the leg from the factory to New York's Pier 27 in the East River,
    just a depiction of that mode of transport.

    Thanks!

    Here is another shot of the trailer loading, I'll bet Barry has a sharper copy if needed;

    While that photo was shot the same day I do not have a copy of it. Elmer ordered just the photos he had wanted to build his album. As a Ford employee he could order by picture number from the Ford Archives at no charge.

    The actual photographs he saved got damp and warped so badly I could not scan them. They are all high resolution photos taken from about 5 feet away and then cropped to size. That's why that group of photos is more detailed than most photos grabbed off the web.

    Mark, I just posted instructions for posting from URLs. They provide a much mer legible output than what you posted. Could you try and post it that way so I can add a clean copy to my collection?

    Thanks.

    I'm glad we could be of assistance. I have a particular interest in the car cover as our car was damaged by one, which is why it was selected to be made into a convertible.

    I am curious how the cover fit around the hood ornament. If it flapped enough to damage the paint on a car like Barry's, couldn't it have snagged the delicate hood ornament as well?

    Shipped with wheel covers and ornament in the trunk.

    I'm sure I once saw a documentary on TV about 20 years ago regarding the Continental Mkii and it spoke about the fleece cover while showing cars being put in rail cars or a shipping containers.

    I'll have to try and find where I got the image from and upload via the URL as Barry has suggested.

    I concur that the vast majority went by rail, however, I've only heard once that they were delivered to customer's homes, uncrated and given their first service by a mechanic from the Continental Division.
