They state that they can supply all Mark II upholstery items. A number of years ago, I purchased red matlesse from them and it was good. Two weeks ago I called them and asked them to send me some samples. They sent me swatches of blue matlesse, off-white nylon basket weave and grey leather. I compared these to my dealer sample book and found them to be good matches.
They charge around $800 per hide and $90 sq/yd for Matlesse. They did not send a broadcloth sample.

Roger, to your point about the leather for the sample book preceding the production leather and perhaps differing for that reason, I would say that seems very likely because we have already shown (in another thread on this forum) that two matlasse patterns existed in the sample book although we only ever see the same one in existing cars.
EDIT: Upon further review, it turns out the links that contained the photos in said thread are dead now, but they referred to several pages within the original sample book in which the matlasse pattern is different.
You could be right! I was looking for a sample picture to send to SMSAutofabrics.com and a closer look at the pictures revealed this! If my eyes don't deceive me the Matelasse' is different in the two pictures. The Matelasse' in my car is like the example shown in the leather/Matelasse' page.

In my sample book, I have only the samples shown in your picture number 2 for leather and matelassé and for broadcloth and matelassé.

Little John and Jan, have you been following the Vendor List thread? The Matlesse is available. Also, please read the recent comments of carpeting.

I just received my samples from SMS Auto Fabrics and the Matelasse' and as Lowell told me "it is not exact but unless you have the original laying on top of the new material you will never know the diference". In other words it's as good as you will get and its very good to say the least! Lebaron Bonney was unable to supply fabrics and they admitted that right away when I inquired.
