That car was on NNJ Craig's List a week or two ago. It has Jersey plates, so I'm assuming the car is here and they must or did have the consignment on it.

I attended the Franklin Lakes,NJ Car Show yesterday and the '59 was there also. Here's a picture of it next to my car.

Nice car (s). I followed one of these (except a conv) in So Cal about a year ago. I remember the seller bemoaning the fact that he let it go for much less than he'd hoped. I believe he joined the Forum shortly thereafter. He might have some insight on this.

Chuck,
This car is a Formal Sedan. The roof was taller than stock and had a separate A/C system for the back with it's own controls for the rear passengers mounted on the back of the front seat. The vents for the rear A/C are mounted on the roof ala Mark II, while the front vents are in the dash. Hess & Eisenhart built them for Ford. I think the owner told me that there were only eighty something converted by them. The rear is very spacious like a limo, but does not have a divider window. This particular car was built from a '59 Mark IV. Like the Lehman-Petersen limos of the sixties, these cars had to be special ordered and were not kept in stock.

Nick, they are only taller because of the padded roof. There was no alteration to the sheet metal itself, from what I understand. They created the extra room in the back by removing the package shelf and moving the rear seat rearward.
Rare, yes, butt ugly, too, IMO. I need one.;)
