I am missing the small stainless steel clip that fills in the small space in between the two "hockey stick" trim pieces on the bottom of the grill. Does anyone have an extra one they would be willing to sell?

If I can't find one I thought of trying to mount some type of a medallion on the bumper or on the grill in order to cover the small crack between the two pieces. Any suggestions? Thanks for your help.

Do you have the part #?

James,

There was one on Ebay, but I don't know if the auction is over. If not there, Check on recently completed items to see what it sold for and always check Ebay on a daily basis.

Also, if you see someone selling Mark II parts, send them out a question and ask them for the part you need.

A fast check on eBay is easy. On our Front Page there is a link "Mark II on eBay" right next to the "Mark Forums Read" link. In fact I'm working on having the eBay link appear on other pages also... it's easy to make quick checks with it,

This part? It could be fabricated, like my mirror clip, but that could get pricey.

Barry, I saw your picture and that is exactly the part I need . Did you fabricate yours from a mirror clip or am I misunderstanding what you wrote? If it is a fabricated piece, please explain to me where you found the clip to work on, so I can begin my search for a similar piece. Thank you.

No, I had my mirror clip fabricated, but it's far less complex than this one. It could be fabbed, but you're better off finding a new one. I believe it's stainless, so even a corroded one can be refinished.

Jack probably has one on one of his donor cars.

There is a guy selling a grill and hockey sticks. Shoot him out a question and ask him if he has one.

In his reply, Barry Wolk mentioned possibly fabricating a clip and spoke of a mirror clip. I went to our local Ace Hardware yesterday and we found a chrome mirror clip 1 inch by 1/2 inch which was exactly the size I needed. I installed it and it worked perfectly to cover the small gap and rerally looks like a part of the car. I'll still keep looking for the original but in the meantime this will do fine. My cost was $1.00 for the clip.

How about a picture?

I am attaching 2 pictures which you may be able to expand to see how the mirror clip fits on my car. I realize it's not perfect but it's sure better than the gap. I am also going to get a small silver cap to fit over the screw.

Or maybe countersink the hole and switch to a tapered countersink type screw head so it fits down flush with your clip replacement?...:DI believe that is what MacGyver would do in your shoes!:D
