Is that an original well worn interior? Mileage is nice !!

Seems a little too worn (especially for a passenger seat) for only 34k miles.

But then, you have to ask yourself, would these things actually accumulate 134,000 miles? Cars of that era rarely did.

I don't think we can judge the mileage by the seats alone. Below is a picture of my friends interior of his car with 64,000 original miles. It was his daily driver in the fifties. After he stopped driving it, it was stored. Over the years, he didn't condition the leather or take special care of it. I think it's reasonable to assume that the Lowell Dunn car just wasn't taken care of. Leather can dry out a lot in 54 years if not conditioned.

Good point Barry. Back in the day 70K miles was a very high mileage car. This is pretty scarey to consider as we take these cars to the very upper limits of their expected use and beyond.

I like the Lexol products. By the way Gary, I love the interior of your car!

Another indicator of the mileage on a car is the wear on the brake pedal cover. There's a huge difference in wear in 100,000 miles.

Shelly, I don't see a huge problem with high mileage cars as everything is replaceable. The worst would be stress cracks in the frame, but everything else can be repaired.

Keep in mind that todays lubricants are far superior to what was available when this car was new. That alone would greatly extend the life of these cars.

Thanks. The back seat has no marks anywhere and the elderly gentleman that owned it before me must have really taken care of the leather as the only minor wear is a few lines at the front of the drivers seat but I forgot to ask him what product he used. I take it lexol is widely available. Any particular item as most brands have a wide selection. Gary
