Lifelong dream realized!!! I own a Mark II C5613299.

Well I did not buy the super nice one I looked at a few months ago... I bought this one instead, it was also only a few blocks from my house... At a January CLC meeting one of the guys told me about this car and I have been looking for it for months.. Well I stumbled across it on Monday we have worked out a deal the deposit has been paid and will be finalized next week!!!

This car is not as nice as the other car but it is a fantastic driver that I would be proud to take to shows... I am over the car show scene. I was looking for a car that I could drive and enjoy. Pictures coming soon....

Can anyone tell me about this car if you have any info on it.. I have the original 56 California plates as well as California Black plates in 63. From there it went to Colorado on owner number 3 then to Texas on owner 4 and 5. Owner 5 got the car in 1988. I am now owner 6 In Texas! I have every original part for the car but some modifications have been made. The car has 4 wheel disk brakes which I like, they have upgraded the AC compressor and changed the wiper motor from vacuum to electric.

Congratulations! I hope the car brings you all the enjoyment that the rest of us are sharing as Mark II owners. Is the car still white? Please post pictures when you can.

The car is listed in the Database, but unfortunately doesn't have information about the first owner, dealer, etc., but that should be available. I suspect other members of the Forum will be able to fill in some blanks for you.

Now the fun begins! Be prepared for people stopping by and wanting to look at it and asking questions.

Once when stopped at a stoplight the guy behind me gets out of his car comes up and asks if I want to sell it or trade it for a LandRover. Ah no I don't think so.:D

Congratulations. All those upgrades on a driver are very nice.

That's an "I" in your serial number. There was no use of the number one in that place in any serial number. It's a common typo.

Welcome to the site.

So true. I also found that during the scanning process in order to make up the Registry, the scanner picked up the 1 vs. the I as well. I fixed most but I still see some. It's hard to get good help :)
