I would think that's a must to have.

For example, and I'm talking about a different car here, but you could never sell a GTO to anybody without supporting documentation from PHS (Pontiac Historical Services) to confirm you have a REAL GTO and not a clone. Send in $50 and your VIN #, and PHS will give you the car's factory invoice or billing history, letter decoding the options (when necessary), copy of a dealer order form for that year and any other information.

Someone has the Mark II invoices for sale, too. However, cars like Vance's and mine are missing from the invoices, for a very good reason. Many of the early cars were "Introductory Units" and were owned by Ford Motor Company, hence, no need for an invoice.

There are some Production Orders missing, too. Not many, but two interesting ones that are missing are two of the cars that were damaged in transit, along with my car. They both disappeared off of Ford's books.

I have a copy of the factory invoice for my car. I think I got it from the Henry Ford Museum way back when I bought it. They blocked out the price though.
