Evening Gentlemen,
Today was the first day I drove a MKII...ever. Bought #1524 6 months ago and it was missing pretty bad. Had other stuff to do so it took a bit.

Followed advice given here and converted to Pertronix #2.
Also sent my carb to Daytona for a rebuild.

Vacuum timed (Thanks Barry) at 19 inches.

The car has 25K on the Odo and after extremely careful inspection, I truly believe it to be original. Everywhere you look, you see perfectly preserved, but not restored details.

Pat, if you are still collecting this data, my engine number is 538.

Thanks to you guys for a great site with great info. Couldn't have driven her today without your help.

Dave

Dave,

Thanks for the engine number. I have updated 1524s History at:

Does your car have a body tag on the firewall? If so would you please advise the number. Since this is an early non a/c car it might not have a body tag.

Dave, Great looking car and hope you enjoy it. I see we both like cars longer in length than most overpasses are tall. :D

Hey Chuck,
Yes I like them low and (no so) slow.
Plan on keeping the Mark pretty much stock though.

Oh, also forgot to mention the seat adjustment thread by Barry. I moved my seat back and it is much better.

awesome stuff

Thanks Dave, for posting the pics. All of the cars in your stable are beautiful (especially the Mark). What a great example of the finest that ever came out of Detroit!
