My windshield wiper arms have lost their spring tension. Does anyone know where these can be repaired or is there a way to do it myself?

Don't know of anyone who actually rebuilds the things but it seems that if you measured the closed length of the spring you could match them up with a spring from one currently offered(every auto parts has a wiper arm rack) and rob those and swap them out.

thank you for your suggestion. I have just removed the arm and it appears that part of the cast has broken where the spring attaches. So it looks like I would need to get a new arm. Any suggestions on whom may have arms?
cheers

You should be able to fix what you have. I'll look at mine tomorrow. I'm thinking of drilling and tapping a hole to put a fashioned "eye" bolt in place of the broken loop.

I have a huge bin full of wiper arms.
post a picture and the size - will grab one out for you.
I would like to think these particular arms are valuable, but they are not.
price will be very affordable.
