I am new member with Mark II serial 1614 which was first purchased by Mr. J. K. Lilly III at the personal request of Mr William Ford as Mr Ford wanted the head of Lilly Pharmacy who met the Ford test of " sufficient stature in the community" to own Fords flagship. Mr. Lilly had to be pursuaded as until then he only drove Rolls. Mr Lilly specially ordered navy blue with single color medium blue upolstery. Mr Lilly so liked the Mark II that he drove it for several years before trading in on a Rolls. Mr. Cross bought the car and kept it for thirty nine years before selling it to me. As you know it is a terrific car to drive. Gary
