I just returned from the auction and here's the udated info on Mark II activity. Only two Mark IIs are on display. Interestingly, both arrived "too late" to go on the block. Both had documentation and reserve bid info on the windshield along with an ID number, but when I asked officials about the cars I was told that they both came in too late to get auctioned. Anyways..... 56F2937 Dark Green which I posted earlier sits in the parking lot with a reserve price of $27,500.
Today another MRK II was found parked on the street, its C56C2497 Dark Blue, possibly its been repainted, but from my visual, looks all original under hood (but badly in need of detailing) and a clean original interior --- but a wrapped steering wheel (why???) . Posted reserve price $35,000.
Here's a couple of pictures:

Unfortunately I could not find the owners of these cars for more info. I would have loved to drive them for further evaluation.
This was my first experience of spending serious time at a car auction and I have come to some interesting conclusions. If you have a car with a problem, an auction IS a terrific place to sell your car after first getting it detailed. No way can you drive them first. If you're a buyer at an auction and you have no personal reliable knowledge about the car, then you're a gambler.
This was a wonderfull event to attend. Seeing all the antiques and classics was like going to the circus when I was a kid. "Carman",(my son ) was druelling over an Impala 409 and fortunately I cooled his heels. I wonder how many people buy cars at auctions and then after having it delivered home, drive it and get seriouslly dissapointed.

I enjoyed attending The Barrett-Jackson and Russo and Steele auctions on my trip to Arizona last month. You're right Shelly, it's like being a kid at the circus. There was one guy at Barrett-Jackson that bought a Caddy and wanted to immediately put it back on the block because he said it didn't fit him.

Nice colors, they each suit the car.
Looks like the blue one has a minor case of 'continental hinge' as I think Barry calls it. I like the look without the overriders.
Did the whitewalls seem a little wide, like they are from a Buick application?

I've added a note to the Registry "Seen @..." and a date in case these pop up again in the future.
Since both of these cars had listing for original owner I did what I usually do. Do a search to find out anything about them and who they were. Based on past discussions, I know some of you aren't intrigued as I about this but WTH. :)
