Well, after "getting to" the Mark II, I've concluded this car needs more love than I can give it. I can see it being a phenominal car when finished, but I know now that I don't have the necessary rescources to get it there. I'll be listing the car for sale shortly. I believe The Mark II Forum consists of the most supportive, organized and helpful group of car folks that I've ever been exposed to. Regards, Dan

Dan, I'm sorry to hear that. These cars can be very costly to restore depending on what condition your car is in to begin with. If you have to pay someone to do the work the cost will double or more. Maybe the new owner will restore it.

I could easily see having $35-40K invested in the car to get it somewhere back to where it needs to be, not including the time I'd spend, which would be 100's of hours. I'm 67 so I have to start picking my battles more carefully and this one would exceed my timeline, among other things. If these cars were nominally seling for $50-60K, then maybe, but they're not, and not likely to in the forseeable future. The good news is it's been well cared for while on my watch, so the next owner will at least have that going for him. You've been great Bob, and as I said, this forum has been the best I've ever been exposed to. I'll stay on this forum, and perhaps we can meet at some function. I've got my '57 Cadillac on the road now, so we have two cars again in our family! Best, Dan
