what is a fair price for a good set of original valve covers. I see a set on ebay for $650, sounds high.
Thanks,
Chuck

I hate to tell you this but everything on these cars is priced high. You need to carefully shop around. Hit up everyone you know of before purchasing anything because prices fluctuate drastically. I have seen hubcaps go from $500 a set to $3,000 a set.

Chuck:
Nice valve covers will not be cheap. They are the real jewels on that engine. If I was an eBay seller I'd want $650 too... like the wheel covers there are no substitutions and they are rare.

I was told some years ago that the valve covers are worth far more than the engine. If you can find them you had better grab them.

There is a complete good running engine (less carb) for sale on Ebay by the same seller that just sold a nice assorment of chrome and S/S trim. The starting price is $450.00. Bet it's got valve covers on it:) Located in Canada.
Here's the Ebay item number. 2 days left with no bids yet.

If you don't find any, there is a faint possibility I might buy a rebuilt engine for my Mark II that has a set here within the next month. I will let you know what happens.
