I was watching the progam "Real Deal" last night (11/27) on the History Channel. They sell all sorts of "stuff" and much to my surprise a nice looking 56 Mark II came up for auction and sold for 40K. I was wondering if anyone on this forum knew anything about this one?

Anybody else see the episode of "Real Deal" on the History Channel last night? It featured a 1956 Mark II. Premise of the show is seller can either take an offer from a broker or take the item to auction. The Mark II went to auction and sold for $45,000.

Looked like a pretty nice car. The commentary was full of the typical inaccuracies--called it a "Lincoln", had production numbers wrong, etc.--but also paid tribute to the car in terms of its collector status and famous owners, etc.

I was worried about this one....the guy stated he had restored it to the tune of $75k plus. The expert offered him $30k and stated that "collectors have to stand in line to get one". It was a beautiful '56 without a/c. I never heard them say "Lincoln" but at least they were talking about its rarity. Fortunately the owner didn't accept the experts offer and took it to auction. The person that paid $45k for it got what appeared to be a good deal as the car was very clean and well restored.
