The link works fine. Congratulations! That's really cool to see another one reborn.

My favorite, a black car with nostrils!

You need wide whites, IMO, to make the car stunning. Coker Classics or Silverstones would be fitting.

Good Job-Remember-the more ya drive it the better it'll perform-looks like a million bucks too!! Barry's right tho-wide whites will really set it off.

Thanks guys!

Wide whites are on the menu indeed. These are just some tires we mounted up to move it around etc... the originals finally detreaded one day when pushing it to work on. :)

Check out American Classic Tires
wide whites made in America, not Mexico
I've got them on mine, and they're great!

I'm in favor of any tire that balances out and allows you to use the Mark II the way it was intended. One of the biggest mistakes in setting up the Mark II after a suspension restoration is in not following the proper method for setting the torque fitting in their proper position. They were designed to return the Mark II to ride height. That's what makes them glide down the road. If your A-arm bolts were tightened with the suspension dangling the bushings are likely ruined. They are meant to be tightened at ride height.

I learned this lesson the hard way.:(

Congrats on getting the car back on the road! It looks like a great car. Seeing you driving it inspires me to get behind the wheel of mine!

They look nice in the garage. They look great on the road!

Are you running radials?

We plan on putting radials on indeed. Looking at some 3inch ww's. Been reading up on diamondback white walls, not made any decisions on which tire exactly yet.

I have Diamondbacks on my Porsche. Just be aware that there is no protective raised ring of rubber on their overlay. They look great and stay pretty white.

I just replaced my michelins with diamondback 3" and the look is great, but what surprised me was the handling improved a whole bunch as well. Mind you, I also put them on new rims with the extra 1/2" offset.... Money well spent in any case.

Did you set your torque bushings to the proper height. That mad an enormous difference in the way the car floats down the road. It is so well mannered.

To date on ours, we have not had to do anything to it other than get the car running again, rebuild the fuel pump and bleed the brakes, etc... Nothing has been replaced since the car was parked in 1965. It had been stored in a climate controlled storage facility. The rubber, hoses, belts, etc... are all the original/items on it from when parked. We are not planning on updating anything other than tires at this time, to be honest we have not decided what to do with the car. We are car buffs indeed but more into rods and muscle cars, a classic like the mark II is kind of wasted on us.
