To those members who overlooked or failed to receive the email sent to all members last night, please note the following:
"Many of our members who use a "handle" or nick name as their username are failing to comply with our forum rules. Up till now the rule has not been enforced, but that will no longer be the case.
If you use a nick name or "handle" as your user name, you must put your real name in the Signature area of all your posts. That can be done automatically by entering"UserCP" and then "edit Signature". Enter your full real name, such as "Rich Jones" and your location in the signature section. As of Jan 1, 2010 any posts not complying will be deleted."

Please comply with this rule. I don't want to remove anyone's posts, but I will comply with Shelly's wishes.

Shelly, Have you thought about this? Some have their real full name in their profile which is easy enough to bring up so why do they need it in their signature, too?
You could just set the header for each message to include the real name of the person. It's done on other forums using this program.

Dot:
I try to get things established which result in my expending least effort in administrating the forum. By having the real name either as the username or in the Signature portion of their posts I and all our members can QUICKLY determine if any one is not complying.
If I had my way I'd have only real name usernames, but many members want to carry on with handles and nick names from other forums. However the use of real names is good because it creates more credibility in Marketplace posts and in all other posts it establishes an identity that makes members responsible for what they write.

Shelly, I agree using our real names lends credibility and creates accountability. That's why I also put my "mug" where my "mouth" is by posting a photo of myself with my signature. (Thanks for resizing it....in case it needed it).
Notice the vintage garb? When I drive my 56 MKII I have all the acroutrements to make the presentation authentic.....why not?...the brass era cars guys do the same thing with slickers, gloves, etc.

Keith, you handsome devil you, I like the hat, stellar touch!... I'd put my mug on here but the membership is growing so nicely. Besides, the Post Office hates competition.
