For any of you Shelby enthusiasts, I traded in my white '08 Shelby for a new 2012 Shelby GT500 convertible. This car performs/drives much better than the '08 did. The handling and speed makes it an entirely different animal! It's 50 more HP with BOTH an aluminum block and heads. 5.4 ltr supercharged motor. The performance pkg I have includes larger wheels, 3.73 rear axle, unique shocks, special coil springs and stabilizer bars, Gurney spoiler and gear shift knob. Exterior white stripes are also different.
There's a very limited number of these. I was going to custom order one, but I learned Ford has already ended GT500 2012 model year production. They can't be ordered. Apparently limiting builds to what's already in the pipeline. Only about 3,900 of the 2012 GT500 units are planned. About 900 of which are convertibles.
Well I found one being sold at a Ford dealership that is almost exactly what I wanted. Convertible, race red, performance package, navigation. Only thing it doesn't have is the special Recaro racing seats. Here's some pictures.
