In looking for a 58 Edsel for a friend most I saw had the Teletouch transmission controls but I found a wagon that looks like it has the same shift leaver set up as the Mark chrome and all. Has anyone seen Continental parts on 58 Ford products?

I wouldn't be surprised if the steering column parts would work. Besides the parts that are one off for the mark II, the engine, trans, axles, steering and brakes are the same as Lincoln. All Edsel was really is a re-bodied ford with an optional 410 that was a 430 with smaller 4.2 inch bore. I was told in the 1990s, people made counterfeit 1960 Edsels out of regular Ford cars also.

I know my 59 is as you said basically a Ford though for what it was worth it has a 361 V8 in it. I think the 58 was based on the larger Mercury body. I'm going to have to compare the columns.
