I am at the point in the restoration of 2593 where I need to select the colors for the interior leather. The Interior Trim code is 1F6M which indicates: All Leather, Biscuits and Welt color is Deep Red and the Bolster color is White.
Does anyone know of a current leather supplier that has The Deep Red leather, or a Red leather that is a close match to the original, and what was the original shade of the White leather? Is it a Pure White, or is it an Off-White, and if an off-white, which one?

Thanks,

Try SMS fabrics or check an upholstery supplier in your town. I always found getting to touch what you're buying is always a nicer way to do it anyway. I was also told there is a special spring type material that lines the biscuits that you might want to look into.

SM says that they can supply an exact match for all Mark II leather and fabrics. I have received a number of samples from them and they have always been right on. They have a copy of the original Mark II sample book which they use as a guide. Ask for samples!

I highly recommend them for authenticity purposes.

Morgan and Pat,

Thank you very much for the information on SMS Fabrics of Canby, OR. I have copied their URL and will forward it to my upholstery shop, along with your comments about their having the original Mark II sample book. And, I will ask him to inquire about any special spring materila to line the biscuits.

Thanks again,

Dan

Be aware that SMS is not always spot-on.
I sent them a sample, told them it was from my Mark II and I was sent back as "best match" 3 vinyl samples.
Since this was for the trim around the rear windshield, I went with one of their samples. the match was so far off, I ended up dying the vinyl with dye I got from Leather Magic(also listed under suppliers on this forum)
Since my car is a driver, I wasn't concerned with the fact that I used vinyl over leather on this piece of trim.
Once dyed and installed, one can't tell the difference in this case.
Bridge of Wier is still in business in Scotland, and has a website where they claim they can match any leather.

Please check this Forum Thread on B.O.W. to see some of our experiences with them.

I purchased the leather for my car from Bridge of Weir some years ago. They told me they had the color codes and only asked what color I wanted. It has been in my car since the mid 80's and still looks like new. Mind you, the only time the rear seat has been sat in was my daughter and her maid of honor when I drove them to her wedding.
