When we bought ours years ago, George picked up an extra frame and engine from another person that was planning to make a street rod with the body of a MarkII. We still have the frame and engine but not down here yet so don't know what number it was. I don't know if that owner ever got it done.

I believe there was someone from Australia looking for a salvage frame.

I don't care for customized Mark IIs. I know that that sounds funny from someone that owns a customized Mark II, but mine retains the essence of the original.

It is just my opinion, but I don't care for any customs that I've seen.

The rolling frame and engine/trans that I picked up in the early '90's is missing the bumper and body mounts. They were cut off and used on the frame that the body was mounted on. The custom shop was using a '75 LTD stationwagon frame with 4 wheel discs, 460, C6, basically the whole frame under the mark II. The top was chopped 1 1/2 in and the windshield was channeled into the front cowl, now has hidden windshield wipers. All the electrics were hybridized ( a mix of '56 and '75 parts). Custom wheels were made for the car, never saw them, and I couldn't afford the asking price of the original hubcaps. Don't know where they went.
