can anyone explain to me why I see so many tops of radiators all dented and banged up? Unfortunately mine has a few dings. Is there any way of getting those out?

Unfortunately, I've seen many Mark II's with radiators like you describe. I've heard of braising a washer or bolt to the dent, thereby having something to grab on to, to pull the dent.

The top of the radiator can be removed, bumped out and reinstalled by a radiator shop and then refinished.

Yes. In days of old when one stopped for gas the station attendant would actually fill your tank for you and they would also wash the windows and check the oil and water.

Of course when checking the water they would place (more like dropped) their water bucket on the radiator thus making the dents.

I soldered flat headed screws to mine and used a slide hammer to pull on them. That got rid of the big dents. Then followed up with Bondo.

The heat from the radiator doesn't cause the bondo to weaken?

I hope not.:(
It should be able to handle a couple hundred degrees.

I filled mine with solder, but not good enough, still looks like heck! One of these days (or years) I might remove the tank and bump them out.
