I had an unsolicited offer for my car that has me thinking. I have very little invested so the return would be significant. My car needs body work to take care of some rust issues that I know is not in my current budget. I really like that the Mark II is so unique, I'm just not sure I want to sell and buy a belly button car.

Any thoughts?

If your profit is "significant" and the car needs a whole lot more $ put into it then I would pull the trigger and take your profit. There are many Mark IIs out there that are very complete and begging for a buyer. Now is the time to accept that exceptional offer and trade up.

Agreed. Especially if your car has a lot of rust.

I third that motion! An easy way to profitably upgrade. Also, you can always find something to enhance on a Mark II. Take the money and then go make a killer deal!

In my experience cars - like boats - are cost centers not profit centers. If you can manage to make a hefty profit - take the money and run. Especially if you can pick up another Mark II in better shape for your uses with the profit. I'm sure someone on this forum can point you to another Mark II which fits your desires...

I agree. If you can possibly trade up, it would be win win.
