My 1956 Mark II has trim code B5G. Could someone please decipher this for me? Thanks.

Tom,
Welcome. Could you give us the whole set of numbers? Is it 1B5G?
The VIN would be helpful too.

The B5G interiors were all 2G5L or Nylon biscuits with leather bolsters.
Biscuits in medium gray with deep gray bolsters. Welts were deep gray.
Sounds nice. Welcome to the site.
I don't see B5G in my list.

It was only used on 16 very early cars. It appears to me as if D5G was a trim package. Is the car an Introductory Unit? Do you have the Production Order?

Thanks for the information. I don't know if the car is an introductory unit. I've been told that it is a very early unit. The VIN is C6581016. The interior has been reupholstered (by a previous owner) in what appears to be heavy vinyl. Here is a photo of the front seat.

Tom,
Nice. You have a very early car. Do you have any pictures of it you can post?

Looks like blue welting, steering wheel, and dash. What color is the car painted?
01 on the data plate means it came off the line painted black. The 8 03 means it came off the line on August 3, 1955. The 6 means it was the 6th Mark II to come off the line that day.

Thanks for the information. Here are two recent photos of the car. I have the car listed for sale on the San Francisco Craigslist.

Definitely reupholstered. There were never ant seams in the corners of the bolsters as they were made of a one piece hide. Very expensive to duplicate.
