LCOC Data - 1984 Lots of Data, 2011 Nada

Just curious why there seems to be sooo much registry info from the LCOC in 1984?
After that date and right up to the present there just is not the same volume of data? What up with that?
With the internet and data sharing you might think that the info should be more voluminous, not decreasing amount.

I have gathered that from reading the forum messages ... but my question is anyone knows why 1984 is so prevalent. Not 1983 or 1985 or any other year prior to 1984 or after. Did the LCOC have a remarkable membership drive or campaign in the early 80s?

They may simply be working off of a 1984 club directory.

I have all of the Directories after 1970 and have (to the best of my ability) recorded the ownership information from all those Directories.

In a previous thread I once asked "what happened in 1984?" because of the significant amount of car history tracks that ended in 1984. I was hoping that some of the Forum members with extensive LCOC background might provide some insight. I received no responses.

So, I don't know what happened, I just know that many LCOC members and their cars reported in the 1984 Directory did not appear in years thereafter.

Didn't have one at that time and this is just speculation. Maybe the club added whether an owner wanted their info published or not to the membership form? Our Tbird club (CTCI) does that.
