I purchased a new gadget called 'The Filler Detective'. It is on the net and it detects if body filler has been used. I consider that a repaint always raises the reason for the repaint. I know that some use a magnet but this is a handy useful gadget with a lot of toy value.

All cars have body filler. The Mark II has a ton of lead, right from the factory. My Porsche was factory skim-coated with body filler.

It's really no big deal to find filler on any car.

Barrys is right. I have done alot of body work over the years and I always have to do repairs on brand new sheet metal. I swear they have a contest at the loading docks to see who can do the most damage. Mark A Maromonte.

What can be meaured quickly and accurately is the amount of and placement of the filler. It is a hand held portable which has a nine volt battery. Gary
