Hi
Does anyone know where I can purchase the braided hoses for the A/C unit for my 57 Mark ll, that looks the same as the originals other the Mark ll Enterprises.
Can the original hoses fittings, be fitted with new braided hoses and who does this kind of work.
Thank you

I had a very hard time with this. My local hydraulic fittings store was very helpful though. They said there were no braided hoses available for the high pressure of an AC system. My local hot rod shop had the braided hoses but they were only rated for fuel pressure not AC. Buddy Holidays book mentions a refrigerant hose with braid but local refrigeration supply didn't have it.
The old fittings were reusable but bending the copper pipe was hard to bend to the correct angles even when packed with sand using all techniques.

They bend instrument brass by filling the tube with soapy water and then freezing it. Works much better than sand.

Try Classic Auto Air in Tampa(888-791-6384). They made a set for the factory air on my 70 F100 that were perfect. What they had me do was to send the components I wanted duplicated and then matched to that.
