This is in the Community Lounge area because it concerns my '74 Mark IV. I need a "Combination Valve" for the brake system and it's a hard item to find. My internet search shows one for 1965-73 Mustangs from CJPONY PARTS, and another web site shows one for 1966-1978 Broncos. I wonder if either is close enough to make a fit? ANy good advice out there?

I would think it should do the job. It has to work as a proportioning valve and a warning light switch, correct? If the brake line fittings are the same size on both cars, and since they are both similar in weight, I think it should. You may be able to find out the holdback pressure of the two vehicles from a parts person at a dealer. It may be one of the few interchancable parts Ford used!;) If all else fails, there are good adjustable aftermarket ones available at reasonable cost that would do the trick.

Try inline tube. Scroll on left side down to proportioning valves. Maybe they'll have an application for you.

The mechanic won't go along with using a Mustang or Bronco of the same era because although they may look alike the pressures are probably different and you don't want to screw up with brakes. It's impossible to get a new one so I packaged up the valve and sent it to Whitepost.com for rebuilding. They have some interesting restoration videos on their web site. They promise a 24 hr turn around. I feel lucky to have found the place. They can restore any of the items in your brake system to original. I'll let you know how this turns out.
