Hi,
can anyone tell me where I can get a "Paint OK" rubber stamp (yellow ink) so I may stamp my inner fender wells, hood and trunk? Please email me at the address below. Thank you.

If you can find an "old time" office supply store where you live they can probably make you one if you can supply the lettering size and font. It will have to be the old open or manual type not one of the self inkers I'd imagine. Then the only problem would be yellow permanent ink though they might have it. Good luck

Make your own. Draw the image you want to present in reverse on a piece of linoleum. Carve away everything but the image and you have yourself a stamp.

Naif,

I bought one from Jack Rosen back in the nineties. He sold a kit with the pad, yellow paint, and stamp and instructions on where the stamp goes. If you're not inclined to make your own as Barry has suggested, give him a call and see if he has one. I know I still have mine. It must be in the garage somewhere. I'll see if I can find it if you want to borrow it.

How's the Mark II coming along? Haven't seen you since the Rhinebeck meet. We had a good meet at Mills Mansion last Sunday. Too bad you couldn't make it.

Nick, I had other plans unfortunately. Wish I could have attended. The MKII is moving along much slower than I want. I told the restorer it HAD to be ready for the Eastern National Meet in Laconia,NH. by June 2nd. We'll see. All the cars are put away for the winter now but that won't stop me from driving them up till the 1st snowfall. Have a cozy winter!

Could somebody send a picture of the correct sized stamp and the
locations of these stamps.I have understood that they come on the hood, trunk lid and both inner fenders. The best would of course be if I could buy/borrow a
stamp but a picture with measures will help much.
Thanks in advance

The dimensions given, 1" x 7/8" do not seem to match the stamp dimensions. The vertical dimension appears to be much less than 7/8"s if you presume that the horizontal dimension is 1"

On my car the stamp is much closer to 3/4" high by 1 1/4" long......they read. CD-5
PAINT OK. The CD-5 is centered above the PAINT OK.

There is one on each inner fender on the flat surface about 2 to 4 inches from the front bend.....both read from the drivers side.....There is also the same stamp directly above the master cylinder on the firewall tilted on almost a 30 degree slant.

None are done with any apparent attempt to place them squarely or precisely.....Just stamp and go. I would imagine they were done by management rather than by craftsmen.

Thanks for your replies. Please comment these home made marker pen stamps. Are their locations anything like they should be?Note that the
engine bay is half ready and full of temporary solutions. The modern battery stays,it has a fake lid from Mustang 1965 on for the looks.Has all Mark ii:s
three horns as standard?

Ralf, three things -

1) Three horns were standard.

2) Are you trying to make the engine compartment as close to original as possible?

3) I just posted a comment to another thread of yours. I think you'll find it and 1893's revised history very interesting.

Pat,that`s an interesting car dealer isn`t it.
This car was in quite bad shape so everything has to be redone.
Everything except fot the chrome work and interior sewing work
is done by myself
I am trying to get the car as close to original as possible with
a number of exceptions. It is not going to become a show car
but it is meant to be good enough to be at shows.
If you see anything that hurts your eyes please send comments.
Regards Ralf

This may be a bit late to the party but I think it may be a mis-print. I believe this should read 1" x 1-7/8". Better proportions.
