Is that a picture which would help sell the car !!!

I think it's like a hooker showing a little leg on the curb... I think he's a bit optomistic about his expectations around the price.

It could turn out to be a high class hooker:p You never know what's under that cloth:)

I would like to know what is under that cloth, if only for curiosity sake. Gary

What I can see down the side looks like the door's lined up and I think it has the a/c nostrils but why is the left front turn signal red?

Mike

If you blow up the pic, I think the red you see is something sitting in front of the car on the floor.

I talked to Jr. He is going to get the VIN. I will be calling him this afternoon to get it and possibly more information. It may be difficult. He's selling for someone else and isn't very motivated.

The original owner was Raymond "Rags" Matthews. He was an All-American football player at Texas Christian University in the 1920s, was named to the All-Time All-SWC Team in 1969, and was elected to the College Football Hall of Fame in 1971.

Attached are additional pictures of the car. Below are seller comments.

The car has an early 50's Plymouth Grill. However if the buyer doesn't like that, seller knows someone who can make a complete Mark II grill in stainless steel for $300-$500.

Seller says the interior needs redone but he knows someone just outside of Newport, KY who can do a complete leather interior for $750.

At least now we know what he was covering up with that sheet, or whatever it was.

Put the cloth back on. Gary

I have been taken so many times that this one brings back memories. It isn't unique for a car that has been stripped to be painted to look shiney; inappropriate parts applied; and tall tales told. It may not be the case here, but it is certainly a buyer beware in my opinion. Specifically, look at it in person and don't believe anything that you don't see...and then be skeptical. I'm not being a smarty, it's just difficult to find an honest person when it comes to cars.

Coincidentally, but probably not related, I know of a partially salvaged Mark II that was stolen a while back from that area. In any case, I would be very skeptical of any collector car without a VIN plate (not this car, but a previous thread). Not being an attorney, I don't know if one who buys such a car from the thief would have to give it back to rightful owner or not, but I would guess so. This is just a general comment and not suggesting that this car's seller is telling anything but the truth.

Please post the VIN for the stolen car. It can be put on the database and help prevent Forum members from becoming involved. Very important!

The person who buys a stolen car in BC does not have ownership and if the police knock on the door, they can seize the car as stolen property and return to the rightful owner but may have to keep the car for a long time as evidence. A general rule to follow is stolen property is stolen property and paying a good price or not knowing does not change that. Beware if legal title is any issue. Gary

Pat,

I agree and will ask the owner. I was told that the police didn't show any interest. I guess since it was a non running car.

Thanks.
